The Manchurian Candidate

Move along please - nothing to see here. Oh all right then, if I must. Where do I start ...
First of all, they stuck in Denzel Washington (pronounced DEN-zel) to give it some credibility, but he's a bit lame. He plays a Gulf War soldier who was brainwashed. Hey - who cares! At least we've moved on from the Vietnam era. Now the Americanos get to tell the same stories all over again but in a different place. Yay for Hollywood! And at the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about?

Bend It Like Beckham

I definitely would! ye know what I mean. What more do you want? two fit birds playing football and not being arsey like girls can be, until they start falling out over some bloke who coaches them.
I didn't realise at the time I was watching, but this was Keira Knightley's first movie. Well done girl!
The only bit that confused me was the casting of some Irish dude as the coach. Can't really see how this made sense, unless he was put in there for the bit where the young Indian girl was spouting off about the limits placed on her by her culture and the Irish dude lets on to identify with her dilemma. Gimme a break - those Irish dudes have been having it easy for years. More beatings, I say. I know an Irish dude who drives around in a fast orange car and lives in a big four-bed house. I'm not believing a word of it - no way !

Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 - Dead Man's Chest

I went to see this one mainly coz Pirates 1 was so good. Remember how The Empire Strikes Back was so much better than Star Wars? Not here me hearties. It's complete pants except for the fight on the beach towards the end. However I believe "the powers that be" made two films at the same time, this being the second part of a trilogy, and it really does feel like a filler between the first movie and the final movie. So I hope the next one is a humdinger! Otherwise I shall not spare my wrath.
Keira Knightly looks like an extra in this one for the most part. And Johnny's a bit off-colour too. What's going on ? Could've been a good movie.
